I am going to write 3 letters every day for the next year to public figures, community leaders, and media about the Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN), the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria.
The EYN is suffering from the violence in Nigeria.
The #BringBackOurGirls brought widespread attention to this violence, particularly the 270+ schoolgirls from Chibok who were kidnapped by Boko Haram. Many of those girls belong to EYN. Despite the attention that this campaign continues to give to the situation, the violence in Nigeria has gotten worse, and the girls still are not home. Through it all, the EYN continues to suffer.
The EYN has remained steadfast in its commitment to living peacefully and loving its enemies. They have become active in working to build peace, restore community, and provide essential services to many who are suffering in Nigeria, despite their own hardships.
The EYN inspires me. They fill me with hope. So I’m not going to stop speaking for them until people start to listen. And then I’ll speak even louder.
I am going to personally write 1000+ letters to public figures over the next year.

Thank you for this excellent idea. I’ve been writing numerous times on Facebook and in letters about this issues, always calling for action to bring back our girls. I truly admire your efforts to write a letter for the next thousand days to any group that will listen. Thank you so much for your dedication to this effort. Like you, I am aching to see our girls back home in Nigeria. I can’t imagine the agony their families are experiencing.
